  • Transforming the regional food security and agriculture information system to support risk management decision-making;
  • Develop new services, improve quality and increase access to and use of impact-based and location-specific weather, climate and hydrological information and its application to agriculture tailored to the needs of the agricultural sector, with particular emphasis on the needs of the most vulnerable groups, including women, young farmers and pastoralists.

More than a million players in the food system have access to hydro and agrometeorology consultancy services

  • 80% of farmers with access to usable weather, climate and farm advisory services are satisfied;

 

  • Improved access to local climate information services thanks to digital information platforms

 

  • 16 agreements involving the co-production of agro-hydro-meteorological services between the public and private sectors

 

  • A strategy for harmonising and modernising the CILSS/AGRHYMET CCR-AOS platforms has been developed;
  • Two (02) degree courses have started (Masters and Higher Technician);
  • A dozen recruitments of Expert-Consultants and firms have been completed or are nearing completion: i) A firm to audit the project’s accounts; ii) AGRHYMET CCR-AOS training managers; iii) An expert/consultant in the management and communication of data from the Harmonised Framework (CH); iv) An expert/consultant in resource mobilisation; v) An expert/consultant in statistics and econometrics; vi) An expert in plant protection; vii) A junior expert on the ECOAGRIS platform; viii) A firm to support the implementation of the phase 2 training plan and the strengthening of AGRHYMET capacities;
  • 01 information guide on AGRHYMET CCR-AOS services for countries is produced;
  • 02 EPP development proposals based on rainfall products and the management of automatic stations drawn up
  • Support for the installation of 23 Hydromet stations (Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Senegal, etc.)
  • Support for the production and distribution of seasonal forecasts (PRESAGG and PRESASS);
  • Coaching of countries for PREGEC meetings: September and November 2023 sessions;
  • Training on crop monitoring tools (SARAH-model) ;
  • Training in climate data management and analysis (CLIDATA, Togo)
