Component 1 – Digital advisory service for the prevention and management of agricultural and food crises.
This component aims to: (i) set up decision-making support systems to prevent, manage and respond more effectively to agricultural, food and nutrition crises, hydrometeorological and climate risks by integrating data and taking advantage of innovations and cutting-edge technologies and (ii) strengthen national capacity and institutional sustainability, as well as collaboration with the private sector to provide demand-driven digital advisory services and impact-based forecasting and warning services. Sub-component 1.1: Improving food crisis prevention and monitoring systems
This sub-component aims to strengthen the capacity of the national system for producing, analysing and disseminating data on food security and agrometeorology, as well as to strengthen regional coordination for the bilateral exchange of data and the optimisation of prevention and early warning systems.
Sub-component 1.2: Strengthening digital hydrometric and agricultural advisory services for farmers
This sub-component aims to improve national agricultural advisory systems for access to and use of specific information relating to food and nutritional security by food system stakeholders, in particular decision-makers and farmers.
